Massage and Holistic Therapy
Marilyn is working at reduced capacity over the next few months - so may not be able to quickly respond to messages. She will also have limited availablity to offer appointments.
I have been a massage and holistic therapist since 2004 and have continued my training, receiving qualifications in various techniques (such as Swedish, deep tissue, remedial, pregnancy, sports, Indian head, aromatherapy, and reflexology). After gaining valuable experience working in spas, I became self-employed in 2009, setting up my treatment room in Winnington Hall. I wanted to make massage more accessible, so that people can benefit from these kind of therapies when they need them, rather than just as a special treat, when they can afford them.
I have been practicing pregnancy massage for 13 years and in this time, have developed a client centred approach. It can be so difficult to feel comfortable when pregnant, especially in those last few weeks. So I use numerous pillows, cushions, extra supports and the crucial ‘bean bag’ to ensure that a safe, therapeutic and comfortable massage is achieved. I tailor my treatments to suit each client’s individual needs, not only soothing away the usual stress and tension, but more specifically addressing the aches and pains associated with pregnancy. More generally, pregnancy massage can also help with swollen hands and feet, stress/anxiety reduction, promoting feelings of well-being, improved circulation and flexibility. I aim to provide a personal and truly therapeutic experience.
